Experience
Rachel graduated from the University of Queensland in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education. While her plan was to begin her career as a high school English and History teacher, her instincts drew her towards a role in Learning Support at a local boys' school. It was here amongst these brilliant and unique learners that she realised her passion for working with young people with learning differences and disabilities.
Over the next two years Rachel completed a Master of Inclusive Education, furthering her knowledge about how to best meet the needs of those with diverse minds. Rachel went on to work as an Inclusive Education teacher, before making the switch out of the education system and into private tuition.
She spent the next few years working as a literacy and numeracy intervention specialist, gaining experience with students from ages 5-25 and with a range of learning needs. This included working on an adult literacy program for Down Syndrome Queensland, where she gained experience providing life skills services under the NDIS.
Throughout her career Rachel has gained extensive experience working with young people as teacher, tutor and support worker. She has exceptional knowledge of the K-12 curriculum, literacy and numeracy intervention strategies, and providing appropriate and accessible life skills services.
